Guidehouse Director for Healthcare Provider Consulting in Atlanta, Georgia

This Healthcare Performance Excellence Partner will be a credible health system financial operations subject matter expert who drives transformative partnerships with hospital and health system clients to improve integration of enterprise support and clinical functions with an emphasis in finance but including: supply chain, workforce, revenue cycle, managed care, HR, quality, administration, marketing, strategy, clinical operations, and physician management and alignment . S/he will build and communicate their value proposition and build strong relationships with their healthcare clients. As an executive and leader in the practice, s/he will be responsible for driving and confirming new and expanding current client projects. S/he will need to work extensively with the C-suite and key client stakeholder to improve system value.

The partner will participate in and help direct nationwide business development and relationship management activities for Guidehouse clients and prospects and provide leadership for structuring and integrating Guidehouse’s current offerings to serve their needs. Finally, this individual will play a key role in helping guide the firm’s continued development of leading-edge consulting in the Financial Management service line.


Practice & Content Leadership

  • Build and execute alignment across core functions within the health system with a financial filter that result in improved transparency, growth and profitability.

  • Oversee ‘horizontal’ integration projects to substantially increase ‘experience’ (patient, caregiver, member, consumer) with quality and service levels while demonstrating a significant cost advantage across the continuum.

  • Lead the development/identification of new business opportunities.

  • Participate with overall practice management.

  • Work with clients to sustain cost management and that achieves tangible results across the continuum (profitability and performance) with a strong eye to ‘experience’.

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage a portfolio of engagements or a complex horizontal engagement and consulting staff to assure all contractual/financial targets and deliverables are met.

  • Manage engagement risk.

  • Ensure superior engagement quality.

  • Maintain strong relationships with C-level contacts at client healthcare organizations.

  • Develop and instill best practices throughout the organization that deliver financial results.

New Business Development

  • Serve as a hospital financial operations delivery thought leader in the public domain and assist in building the Guidehouse brand.

  • Leverage and expand the firm’s existing relationships while developing new clients.

  • Serve as the lead executive focused on delivery and execution of cross continuum complex operational/financial operations transformation and follow up on business opportunities.

  • Be personally engaged in growing the practice at a rate of $5M - $8M in annual new business for the firm.

  • Serve on the firm’s panel of national spokespersons on matters relating to health system ‘experience’ transformation and implementation of solutions.

Consulting Staff Leadership

  • Career development, advocacy, retention and recruitment of the Performance Excellence consulting team.

  • Training and on-boarding of new consultants.

  • Manage a profitable, value laden practice where consultants thrive and clients maximize care and financial results.



  • A minimum of 15+ years of increasing responsibility in healthcare industry and consulting combined.

  • Demonstrated experience as Consulting Executive leading relationships, design and delivery consulting services/solutions in: strategy, people, process and technology, with an emphasis on delivering sustainable centralized financial operational solutions.

  • For-profit experience is a plus.

  • 6+ yrs. demonstrating disciplined, creative work with vendors, clients, partners and practice resources to define the right program approach that delivers an improved financial and experience that aligns to system and improves efficiency and outcomes.

  • 2+ yrs. demonstration of managing a significant P&L or budget as the business owner

  • Recognized as a thought leader and frequent speaker in Health System Financial transformation arena.

  • Credible with technology leaders at the corporate level to thread IT through continuum to enhance ‘experience’ and manage costs.

  • Demonstrated track record in business development and client management resulting in measurable results for clients.

Preferred/Desired Skills:

  • Proven track record of selling $3M plus annually (preferred).

  • Proven experience developing client relationships and the ability to assess and define their needs, to secure new business for the firm.

  • Possess 10+ years of orchestrating a team of industry, functional, and technical experts to craft a compelling solution for a variety of healthcare focused clients.

  • Possess 5+years of proven experience successfully managing complex projects in a consulting (preferable) environment.

  • Proven track record of making an impact in an organization and taken them to the next level.

  • Education BS degree in an accredited college or university minimally MHA, MBA preferred

  • Travel 70%
