Our work powers informed decision-making at every pivotal moment in oncology - from the treatment options presented to patients, to the operational considerations for oncology practices, to the design of clinical trials, to the commercial launch plans for new therapies.Position SummaryMcKesson's well-regarded Law Department is seeking an experienced privacy and healthcare transactional lawyer to support all aspects of our Data, Evidence and Insights business (DEI) and our oncology practice technology offerings. DEI focuses on real world evidence and commercial insights to enable providers and biopharma to drive better outcomes for oncology patients. Our technology business delivers unique technology and data platforms to oncology practices, including our market-leading electronic health record tool, iKnowMed, currently reach community-based oncology practices across the United States, including those practices within our US Oncology Network (USON). Life Sciences/Biopharma experience preferred.The Senior Counsel will serve as a legal advisor on a wide array of topics including biopharma contracting, strategic initiatives, product development, risk mitigation, healthcare regulations, privacy and data management and customer management. The Senior Counsel will play a key role in DEI's risk mitigation strategy for regulatory adherence directly in collaboration with McKesson's Business Unit Compliance Officers other key internal stakeholders and external experts.A successful candidate brings:Bring a depth of knowledge and experience with healthcare laws and regulations to actively partner with McKesson's Business Unit Compliance Officers to deliver relevant and actionable guidance to the businessComprehensive commercial contract drafting and negotiation skillsPossess excellent legal judgment for expeditious problem identification and the ability to be both pragmatic/business-oriented and strategic.Excel when working independently and collaboratively, have a record of developing strong working relationships with a diverse client base, and the ability to lead at all levels across the organization.Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage many projects simultaneously.Legal experience with HIPAA privacy and data governance mattersStrong business acumen dealing with risk management and organizational savvyOutstanding interpersonal skills with excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skillsFlexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal mattersA commitment to working collaboratively across many functional groups including internal legal teams, compliance, and other key business stakeholders, as well as specialized outside expertsRequired EducationJuris Doctor Degree.
