Centene Corporation Data Analyst IV (Healthcare Analytics) -- Remote Available in Austin, Texas

This opening is for a Data Analyst IV (Healthcare Analytics). The Data Analyst IV (Healthcare Analytics) will support Health Net Federal Services (HNFS).

As a Data Analyst IV (Healthcare Analytics), you will:

  • Have in-depth knowledge and experience using healthcare data systems and files that establish eligibility, enrollment, and use of healthcare services.

  • Supporting HNFS leadership with predictive statistical modeling, interpretive development of data, and other advanced techniques to represent health program performance, beneficiary health, and healthcare utilization and costs.

  • Obtain and develop data through advanced computerized models.

  • Extrapolate and interpret data patterns through advanced algorithms.

  • Develop interpretable graphs and charts that explain mathematical information and business impacts.

  • Provide guidance to the HNFS customer and internal clients for data modeling and business models to support future health program improvements.

Successful candidates will be expected to perform the following functions :

  • Collaborate in requirements analysis, problem solving, and solution development with various business units across HNFS.

  • Build complex queries to extract and relate data from multiple systems to develop multi-dimensional reporting.

  • Communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Mentor and facilitate technical training and data interpretation to analysts, business users, and customers.

  • Partner with DBAs and IT counterparts to maintain database environment and all data feeds and interfaces.

  • Effective communication skills to work with a blended HNFS, government clients, and contractor support team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public health, health informatics or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years' data analysis related experience in health care programs.

  • Knowledge of query development using SQL or other coding languages.

  • Knowledge of basic statistical, analytical, or data mining techniques including basic data modeling, trend analysis, and root-cause analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience using complex SAS or SQL, with working knowledge of other analytical tools, such as R or Python.

Successful candidates in this role will have :

  • Expertise working with one or more similar data sources for comparative study, including:

  • Military Health System Data, to include TRICARE Encounter Data

  • Veterans’ Health Administration System Data

  • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Data

  • Department of Health and Human Services Data

  • Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program Open Data

Preferred Experience:

  • Master's degree.

  • Experience in use of data and modeling of military health programs.

  • Experience using data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) or related tools.

This position is remote-based and available in many states across the United States.

Government Security/Clearance/Citizenship : This position will be supporting a Federal government contract; therefore, it requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 or higher security.
