Services Manager (healthcare) in
- Sets objectives and goals for the team and what the next steps/ priorities are to meet those goals. * Is responsible for all the QHSE requirements of their team for areas of accountability * Ensures the hospital has a reputation for its high quality soft services and where possible to look for opportunities to develop this further * Ensures that patients, materials and equipment are safely and appropriately transferred around the hospital to the standard required by the Client and Mitie, as set out in the Service Level Agreement * Leads a team to ensure the delivery of a high quality, timely, responsive, cost-effective and * Pro-active service to meet the needs of the wards and departments * Ensures that all colleagues are trained in accordance with clients and companies requirements meeting both hard & soft needs. * Ensures delivery of services in line with contract requirements and Company expectations. * Ensures compliance with MITIE Catering’s Operations Manual and Client policies and procedures by all. * Ensures compliance with MITIE Cleaning Operations Manual and client policies and procedure by all. * Creates and maintains a healthy safe and secure environment for all patients. * Undertakes additional duties in line with capabilities as required to fulfil requirements needed by the contract * Responsible for ensuring there are adequate staffing levels across the department in-line with contract specification and demand * Works closely with all colleagues within the contract up to and including working cross site as required * Ensures that the department achieves and improves on service delivery targets in line with agreed KPIs. * Responsible for the day-to-day financial and operational management and delivery of the Administration, Payroll and Help Desk Department * Assists the Operations Manager & Contract Director by managing and developing suitable Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) / Management Information Systems (MI) and Help Desk input and reporting procedures and maintaining them to the required operating standards at all times * Monitors and adjusts where required the resource for the department to ensure the needs of the hospital are met in conjunction with peaks in demand and that labour is in line with the hours for the service. * Ensures the hospital has positive feedback for its high quality portering service and where possible to look for opportunities to develop this further. Attend, follow up and resolve queries from the client, members of the public and third parties * Manages and delivers the service ensuring that contract obligations, KPIs and agreed Trust and company policies and procedures are met. * Fully responsible for purchases and stock control. Develops processes to ensure all service provisions are captured and billed correctly * Communicates in an engaging way, ensuring inspiring and motivating messages are conveyed across all teams. * Effectively resources the team in line with business requirements and takes a proactive approach through business forecasting. * Manages performance management for the entire team, ensuring there are mireviews completed for all team members with clear next steps * Uses initiative to identity talented colleagues across their teams and site to ensure they are developed/supported through their career aspirations and building a pipeline of successors. * Ensures that engagement action plans are brought to & kept alive across the entire team, creating a positive environment that contributes to making Mitie a great place to work. * Utilises the internal HR systems, people support services and guidance to promote best practice and enable their people management accountabilities. * Ensures that all payroll and absence management process are effectively controlled to minimise disruptions and impacting on engagement levels. * Coaches & develops their teams to be the best they can be at work enabling them to achieve their full potential. * Brings to life the Mitie values daily ensuring they & their teams demonstrate the exceptional everyday. * Leads on all employee formal meetings, such as any employee relations topics, restructuring, TUPE or any other consultations. * Has a strong standard of both literacy and numeracy skills * They possess an intermediate knowledge level of all Microsoft office packages. Fully competent in the use of PCs and other types of technology * Expert in the provision of soft services with experience in a similar industry with presence in the healthcare sector. * Has developed excellent written, verbal communication and negotiation skills to support them in their role. * Competent in the use of all Mitie’s software programs and Apps, such CARPS, Equip, Archibus, TopCat, MiCat & MiRec and analysing data using Mitie’s auditing systems. * Fully capable of understanding and maintaining the confidentiality across the site and respecting the needs of all stakeholders. * Understands the organisations goals & objectives and can bring these to life in theirs/their teams daily activities * Works well under pressure to meet the challenging deadlines for both operational and people aspects of their roles. * Demonstrates forward thinking/planning, with a positive 'can do' attitude and can flex their style to meet the needs of the business. * Can effectively plan and manage own workloads, however understands when to ask for support when needed. * A strong manager with proven ability to lead, motivate, inspire and support a diverse team. The ability to be calm and composed under pressure, Good decision-making skills * Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage costs and ensure budgets are met * Represents Mitie and the client always in a professional, courteous and confident manner * A team player with the ability to lead by example through operational excellence, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact at all levels.
