The Senior Program Manager leads a cross-functional program team to support the ambitions of a disruptive startup embedded within our Oral Healthcare business. In this role, you will drive the new business creation process as we work to implement new business models and create products and solutions to fuel them. You will lead development and execution of a program management plan, breaking down organizational silos and managing dependencies through collaboration and influence. And you’ll champion the development of processes and governance structures aimed at communication, accountability, and fervent customer advocacy. In short, you’ll be the glue that holds it all together.

You are responsible for

  • Serve as the operational leader and process expert for a large, cross-functional team engaged in business model innovation and new solution development.

  • Develop and oversee all project plans, including scheduling, resourcing, and budgeting, and ensure the team’s compliance to plans and commitments while managing changes as necessary.

  • Establish project KPIs and develop and maintain program dashboards to monitor and communicate progress, actively identifying opportunities to improve performance while continuously evaluating risks and mitigations.

  • Proactively communicate with functional and senior leadership, establishing regular forums for reporting and escalating issues as needed.

  • Provide daily direction and guidance to team members engaged in the execution of the program, ensuring adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Champion and apply LEAN practices within the program team and incorporate Philips innovation excellence and process improvements into program execution.

  • Support the program team with strong cross-functional business acumen, including technical, commercial, financial, quality, clinical, and regulatory knowledge.

  • Foster strong working relationships with key program stakeholders, driving alignment across functions and levels and ensuring appropriate visibility to both wins and needs.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing projects of increasingly complex scope, including at least 2 new product development cycles as project leader (concept to launch). Experience working in software development environments and employing Agile, SCRUM, or SAFe practices is preferred.

  • Strong preference for experience within the medical device or healthcare industry, with knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management, FDA Quality System Regulations, and ISO 13485.

  • Proven track record of success leading technical and commercial teams in a matrixed environment with distributed accountabilities and unclear precedents . Ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams and initiatives without direct reporting responsibility.

  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and presentation skills, as well as the polish and gravitas to competently represent Philips at professional functions and customer meetings.

  • Decisive and autonomous self-starter who can set priorities independently in a highly complex work environment.

  • Ability to succeed in a rapidly changing, agile environment (startup) where continuous innovation is requisite to success.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible enough to change priorities with short notice when necessary.

  • Sets a standard of ethics and excellence in alignment with the Philips General Business Principles.

  • Acts as an ambassador of professional standards, seeking continuous improvement in ways of working to drive greater efficiency and purpose.
