79422BR Director, Healthcare Executive ExecutiveJob DescriptionAs a Patient Safety Executive, you will champion Cerner's commitment to Patient Safety and High Reliability by leading the strategic and operational patient safety programs in support of Federal clients. The Patient Safety Executive in coordination with the client, will align methodologies to measure, evaluate and improve patient safety across the enterprise, in partnership with clinical and patient safety leadership teams across multiple organizations both internal and externally. You will be accountable for highly complex, multi-site client patient safety programs as well as working with the client for mitigation and resolution strategies for risks proactively. You will lead cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to execute client and methodology vision, objectives, and strategy. You will develop and maintain a coordinated approach to safety programs, assisting the client in the management of adverse events with analysis, intervention, identification of systemic issues, and widespread communications of key learnings. You will also develop longitudinal relationships with key client executives and drive discussions concerning strategy, structure, management, and operations to support enterprise-wide leadership, and safety/quality teams to ensure that organizational wide safety and quality goals and objectives and risk reduction strategies are implemented effectively wherever appropriate while engaging stakeholders in the process.This job will require directing a team of associates responsible for delivering value to the client and support the execution of cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve patient safety. In addition, you will develop as a Thought Leader in EHR Patient Safety through publications and national speaking engagements.The ideal candidate for this job will have extensive management experience in clinical quality management, performance improvement, patient safety, patient experience and risk management and the capacity to lead change management effectively and diplomatically.QualificationsBasic QualificationsAt least 10 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:At least 2 years licensed health care practice, clinical consulting and/or other clinical healthcare information technology (HCIT) work experienceAt least 8 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the jobMaster's degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, or relevant degree or equivalent work experienceAt least 7 years of Patient Safety/Risk management health care experienceAt least 7 years of Project management or health care information technology (HCIT) consulting work experienceReceipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your positionDue to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen Preferred QualificationsExpertise in facilitation and management of group processes focused on systems thinking and objectively assessing and modifying workflow processes to improve safety and qualityExpertise in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement principles and practicesDemonstrated critical thinking, decision-making, problem solving, and conflict resolution skillsExperience working for the Federal government in any capacityClinical licensureExpectationsMust currently live in a virtually approved location (within 60 miles of a major airport)Ability to travel up to 75%Additional InformationApplicants for U.S.-based positions with Cerner must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
