Performance Improvement Consultant-Healthcare Revenue CycleOverview of Position

The Performance Improvement Consultant leads large healthcare revenue cycle process improvement projects and transformation initiatives within the Technology Enabled Services (TES) business unit. This role will facilitate all aspects of the development / implementation of projects utilizing cross-functional teams. The Performance Improvement Consultant will be responsible for monitoring and performing control activities throughout an implementation lifecycle, developing project plans, assessing project issues and recommending resolutions and / or mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, satisfaction and KPI goals. The process improvement culture within the role is high, requiring change management and Six Sigma activities. May have external customer-facing interaction. This is a remote/telecommuter position but candidates must live close to a major metro airport and be willing to travel 30-50% post COVID.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the project and serves as project manager between, business office management and internal / external resource teams

  • Creates project plans, task lists, detailed work plans in order to drive a new department initiative from start-up to completion that will involve, operations, IT and hitting revenue goals

  • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation and manages existing projects

  • Manages the project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on all matters, provides status reports

  • Provides a single point of contact for projects and defines project scope and objectives

  • Conducts regular and proactive project meetings and is responsible to drive deliverables of the project

  • Develop and assist in deliverable schedules

  • Track tasks assigned to the project team and prepare regular status reports

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 5+ years of applicable revenue cycle management experience

  • BA or BS degree or 8+ years of relevant experience required.

  • 2+ years of experience in project management, operations management and/or training role

  • Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong personal computer literacy required including working knowledge of relevant software packages such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word)

  • Ability to think analytically and work with large amounts of data, including checks for integrity, summation, and effective communication (written and verbal) to internal and external constituents. Ability to build and effectively build and manage a team

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

• Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred

• PMI/PMP Certification preferred

How much should I expect to travel?

Post COVID, overnight travel will average 30-50%. Employees in roles that require travel will need to be able to qualify for a company credit card or be able to use their own personal credit card for travel expenses and submit for reimbursement.
