Physician Recruitment Internship

The Bon Secours Mercy Health Internship Program is a paid 10–12- week immersive program that will expose students to the healthcare industry while also giving them the skills and experience needed to build a career. The program provides opportunities for mentorship, networking, career & professional development, community service, job shadowing, and exposure to senior and executive leaders. The intern will work under the direction of Bon Secours Mercy Health leadership by supporting the Operational Initiatives and Physician Recruitment team on special projects.

Location: Home Office in Cincinnati, OH (other locations may be available)

Dates: Monday, May 24th, 2021 - Friday, August 6th, 2021

Hours: 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks

Physician Recruitment – The Physician Recruitment team is solely dedicated to attracting, recruiting, and retaining Bon Secours Mercy Health physicians, providers, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants. Intern will support our field recruiters by assisting with sourcing and recruitment for all Bon Secours Mercy Health Physicians practices. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, filter, clean, and add data from multiple sources including CRM (Salesforce), web research projects, and recruitment activities

  • Support and assist Physician Recruitment staff in research, recruiting, administrative, marketing, and communication projects

  • Research online databases and other resources to find eligible candidates

  • Assist with maintaining accurate job postings for physician recruiters

  • Other projects as needed


  • Currently pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Organizational Leadership, Sales, Business, Finance, Economics

  • Preference for Juniors/Seniors

  • Strong service orientation

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and sense of accountability

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite – specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoints

  • Good communication (verbal, written, and listening)

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Must be self-motivated, capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing priorities, and effectively manage deadlines

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the leaders and colleagues
