Programmer/Analyst 3

Summary: The position involves the analysis, design, documentation, development, testing, and implementation activities related to development and modifications to existing healthcare systems. Designs, builds and maintains software components for the Claims Adjudication systems, Care Coordination systems and related healthcare applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and resolving issues with existing healthcare software components providing quality solutions.

  • Participate in the full software development life cycle (AGILE) from requirements analysis through test, release and maintenance.

  • Participate in code and design reviews.

  • Interface with the Business Analysis and Quality Assurance teams to ensure accurate delivery of project requirements and compliance with standards, code quality and accepted conventions.

  • Providing feedback to business units regarding process improvements for engaged developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the successful insertion of data (membership, claims, payment, etc.) into various healthcare applications and processes.

  • Creation of reports for deltas encountered.

  • Creating automated/scheduled processes to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.

Requirements / Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of software development experience, including experience as a hands-on software developer building object-oriented solutions in a .Net environment (C#.Net, VB.Net, or ASP.Net). C# development is preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft .Net C#/VB application development with an MS SQL backend

  • Proficient with T-SQL

  • EDI knowledge

  • Must be an analytical and creative problem solver

  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to research, document and solve complex issues independently

  • Travel estimated to be less than 5%

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server

  • Experience working with Trizetto/Cognizant Facets

  • Experience working with HealthEdge Health Rules Payor

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other advanced technical degree. Experience in healthcare and software development may substitute for required education.
