As a healthcare economics analyst, you will be responsible for identifying new medical cost savings opportunities. This position will assess new opportunities by leveraging insights from data, dashboards, tools, policies, industry trends, and by soliciting input from a broad network of experts across Optum.
You will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.
Analyze claims data and identify trend and outlier patterns that lead to payment integrity interventions
Develop, implement, and communicate savings methodologies for unique interventions
Direct data analysts in supporting routine reporting and analytics resources for key customers
Translate key business partner analytic needs into technical requirements for data analysts
Present data analyses and key findings

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience with SAS and SQL
Experience reporting and analyzing medical claims data
Experience using R or Python to implement predictive analytics models
Experience using Tableau or PowerBI
Actuarial exam experience
Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA
