VISION

You have a way with words and a proven track record as a copywriter for healthcare brands, with a deep understanding of how copy helps clients tell their stories and achieves their business goals. This role is exclusively focused on healthcare clients, so a passion for healthcare work is a must.

You are confident, but humble and comfortable collaborating with other team members to develop compelling concepts and copy. You are always ready to rise to any challenging brief with a keen eye for detail and a drive to deliver razor-sharp copy that compels the reader to action.

Schaefer is a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to be nimble and quickly transition between clients. It’s vital you are insatiably curious by nature and are deeply self-motivated to gain knowledge about our clients’ businesses beyond the brief.

Working closely with our creative, digital and account teams, you will be asked to contribute creative work that delivers the high level of quality that our agency is known for and our clients expect from both a creative and strategic perspective.

SKILLS REQUIRED

    Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a copywriter at an agency or in-house with responsibility for healthcare accounts.

  • A diverse portfolio that shows a range of work across multiple mediums

  • Direct experience working with healthcare brands - specifically pharmaceutical and medical device brands

  • Experience with conversion and engagement marketing is essential

    RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Work in partnership with designers, art directors, digital strategists and account service to create innovative ideas that answer the client's brief

  • Use your research, knowledge and insight to craft ideas that engage the audiences for which the communication is targeted

  • Develop concepts to meet the goals of the client and present these both internally and externally until a preferred route is selected.

  • Prepare copy platforms, drafting outlines, and final copy for off and online content, accompanied by mandated supporting material or documentation i.e. marked-up references

  • Direct the execution of the creative work, supervising the work of creative partners such as voiceover artists and filmmakers to realize the creative vision for the project

  • Work with cross-functional agency teams to ensure that work is produced on time and that all delivery deadlines are met

  • Sign off on work at all stages of development, taking responsibility for accuracy, consistency, spelling, grammar, references and compliance with corporate guidelines and legal codes

  • In client meetings, take ownership of all written elements, confidently participate in discussions relating to creative work, in particular when talking about the creative idea and the copy

  • Seek to identify and advance creative opportunities to grow client and agency business

  • Manage multiple projects, with the ability to switch from one to the other seamlessly

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong copywriting experience gained from healthcare clients

  • Proven track record at writing compelling copy that drives engagement

  • The ability to communicate ideas at a conceptual level

  • An appreciation of and experience in writing for digital media (SEO; delivering a story effectively through digital media, etc.)

  • The ability to collaborate closely and productively with team members across the agency, specifically, the ability to partner with art directors to develop concepts

  • A persuasive and confident approach to creativity

  • Excellent communication skills

  • High attention to detail and organization
