Constellis Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager in Guantanamo Bay-GITMO, Cuba

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CHFM is a full time employee of Centerra Group, and possesses a unique contracted roll at the Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay (NHGB). The CHFM shall oversee all Centerra maintenance and repair work at the NHGB as outlined in this document and works closely with Naval Hospital Facilities Manager to assure the Naval Hospital building and equipment maintenance are appropriately monitored. This individual submits and tracks work orders and communicates with Annex Managers to assure they are completed in a timely manner. The CHFM reports directly to the Centerra Operations Manager.

*CHFM Must be a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager with the American Hospitals Association

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Works with the NHGB Facilities Department Manager to maintain current and accurate lists of all regulated and non-regulated confined spaces within their areas of responsibility and will provide these to the Government within 24 hours.

  • Oversees all Centerra maintenance and repair personnel such as HVAC mechanics, electricians, and technicians qualified and certified for working in the hospital.

  • Works with Work Control Center Manager to look for a root cause when it is detected that repetitive calls are found and develops a corrective action plan to resolve the issue.

  • When appropriate, assigns qualified personnel certified to work in the hospital and performing maintenance and repair of BUMED systems and equipment.

  • Works closely with hospital facilities management and staff.

  • Coordinates the actions necessary for annual third party certification of Medical Gas and verification of hospital Medical Air, Gas, and Vacuum systems.

  • Works with the Centerra HVAC Supervisor to assure the hospital HVAC systems meet the hospital and regulatory standards.

  • Accepts additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Computer with Maximo and Crystal Reports

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction and other structures.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

The CHFM primarily works in an office but spends substantial time at the hospital especially during specific testing (i.e. monthly generator testing). Daily rounds at the hospital in the morning and most afternoons are part of an established and expected hospital facilities management expectation. More frequent visits to the hospital may be warranted during instillations and construction projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

  • Must be credentialed as a Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM)

  • Pursuing certification or currently certified as ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Maintenance.

  • Must have experience and a working knowledge of current Joint Commission Environment of Care, Infection Control, and Safety Standards.

  • Have above average skills using most MS Office applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Able to read, write, and communicate well.

  • Physically fit and able to work in the environmental conditions in Cuba.

  • Possess a valid driver license.

  • Possess a valid passport for international travel.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital system as the CHFM and directly involved in the Joint Commission Hospital Accreditation Process.

Meets the requirements to be certified in Medical Gas Maintenance.

Demonstrated leadership experience in organizing and leading teams.

Military leadership experience preferred.
