The Remote Medical International (RMI) Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Remote Healthcare Provider is a combined position of field Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) advisor and Remote Healthcare Provider. This position advises and assists the client in planning and managing the HSE aspects of the project. Supports and assists the crew in the sustained implementation and verification of HSE standards and procedures and adherence to these through training, technical assistance and monitoring. Promotes a consistent HSE awareness throughout the crew and assures robust reporting on HSE activities and events to the client. Provides medical services, illness, and injury prevention and treatment in accordance with local, statewide, national and medical oversight protocols, standards and practices, along with maintenance of the medical equipment and supplies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Health. Safety, Environmental (HSE)
Commitment to a suitable level of knowledge on the client's Safety Management System (SMS).
Encourages line management HSE awareness to ensure HSE is an integral part of the client's project.
Ensures that HSE information issued by the client HSE Management Team is distributed.
Ensures that personnel are made aware of changes to key client HSE documentation as it occurs.
Actively participates in briefings and debriefings of client HSE stand-downs, drills, operational activities etc.
Act as a focal point for all project HSE matters if deemed by the client.
Advises Client on compliance issues within client SMS as well as industry guidelines, according to the personal certification and licensure level of the RMI HSE Advisor.
Supports the crew in managing risk with Task Risk Assessments (TRA's), Job Safety Analysis (JSA's), Management Of Change (MOC), and Toolbox topics (TBT's).
Coach crew/contractors on client JSA's/TRA's/TBT's and assist in the review of work instructions and Tool Box Topics.
Keeps abreast of any new client development or policy related to HSE and disseminates to crew & management accordingly.
Participates in event investigations \*Dependent on skill set-may facilitate the investigation process.
Research and report monthly on industry HSE updates for distribution to the RMI medical team, as assigned by Project Manager.
Develop medical and HSE training presentations to be used by the RMI medical team, as assigned by Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED:
Provide advice and medical treatment for primary health care, occupational health, physical health, and emergency situations as dictated by prevailing protocols, scope of practice, training and certification and/or license level.
Complete RMI and client reporting requirements as dictated by project.
Maintain medical equipment and inventory in accordance with RMI and prevailing standards.
Maintains various inspections as dictated by the project (client and/or RMI).
Represent Remote Medical International in a professional manner at all times.
Maintain current professional certifications, as designated for assigned projects.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years HSE experience or as outlined by client.
Minimum of 2 years experience in current clinical scope of practice (clinical experience must be within the past 2 years).
Experience in remote and isolated medical operations as a sole provider (preferred).
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Unrestricted and unencumbered medical certification and/or licensure (depending on location) that encompasses the requirements of the project (may include EMT-B, EMT-A, Paramedic, LPN, LVN, RN)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider (if applicable)
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) provider
Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) provider
Certification, licensure, or training in at least one of the below-mentioned HSE categories
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Professional 30 certification
OSHA 3015 Soil Mechanics
Ability to obtain additional certifications as required by client. i.e. Risk Management, audit, train the trainer, etc.
Other project specific certifications, licenses, and/or training may be required
