The Healthcare Business Executive is responsible for growing adoption of the Baxter Infusion Systems portfolio within acute care hospitals. This individual will primarily call on, develop and maintain relationships with the C-suite and other decision makers to generate demand for Baxter’s infusion technology. This role will manage critical components of the sales process from account discovery to facilitating appropriate transition to post sales implementation process.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a successful history of conveying complex clinical and technical information to a variety of individuals and roles within large organizations. Given the complex and cross-functional buying process this individuals must be able to gain executive sponsorship and meaningful engagement with senior level decision makers from IT, Informatics, Nursing and Pharmacy.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of achievement in medical device sales and/or software in healthcare. Expertise in IV infusion therapy is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifies, qualifies, leads and executes new sales opportunities at non-Baxter hospitals and develops plans for introducing new solutions through collaborative relationships with senior leaders and key decision makers by sharing the defined value of partnering with Baxter
Navigate through the complex and cross-functional buying process by understanding customers current state and designing future state business proposition (Clinical, Technical and Financial) to meet customer’s strategic objectives and roadmap
Generates demand, builds brand and influences purchasing criteria by building value prop and achieving consensus through key stakeholders in the decision-making process
Serves as a leader in all areas of the sales cycle including account discovery, pipeline development, and executing new business; ensuring consistent and sustainable results and works collaboratively with all internal team members
Manage all aspects of the deal strategy including competitive positioning strategy, pricing strategy, presentation strategy and knowing when to bring in the right resources to close the deal
Enable the Infusion System business to act upon market specific customer insights and competitor strategies as inputs into the product/solution roadmap to enable the business to extract financial value and brand preference with different customer segments.
Achieve the annual sales and pre-tax profit expectations.
Expertise in medical device / capital sales, infusion therapy and/or interoperability
Able to navigate a complex sales cycle and influence senior leaders (C-Suite) at customer sites
Experience in executing strategic plans
High business and financial acumen and high skillsets using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Comfortable executing through ambiguity and delivering results
Ability to promote Baxter Culture through positive ongoing customer relations and compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. MBA preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of complex capital sales process, medical devices / software and consultative selling to the C-Suite Experience in negotiating contracts and generating contract pull-through with GPO’s and IDN’s at the system level.
Leadership experience launching new products / contracts in U.S. market in the last 5 years.
Cross-functional experience in other commercial roles, such as Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, Sales Training, Global Marketing and Commercial Excellence required.
