Summary

This position is located in Lancaster, PA. Full-time, 40 hrs/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists with insurance and intake processing by monitoring, printing and distributing incoming fax transmissions to appropriate staff; completing accurate demographic data entry, completing patient insurance check, find nursing and other clerical duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Continually monitors incoming facsimiles, scanning and assign in computer, print and distribute to appropriate staff in timely manner.

  • Responsible for finding nursing for pending, on hold and active patients when insurance changes or HHS is not contracted with patient’s insurance and another agency is needed.

  • Supports Insurance/Intake staff/Authorization staff or Clinical Liaisons with clerical duties, i.e. filing of charts, assisting with faxing, scanning.

  • Responsible for forms inventory including Intake patient forms, teaching forms and all Spanish forms and communicating timely to the Horizon Buyer when re-order is necessary. Will continue to follow up to ensure forms are received.

  • Reviews Care Conference Summaries received from outside agencies and enters patient information into computer system.

  • Responds to incoming calls of the insurance department and authorization department when assistance is needed.

  • Assists with insurance or authorization calls or entry of data when needed.

  • Assist with completion of referrals and financials.

  • Provides back-up assistance to Intake in creating patient packets and patient phone calls.

  • Provides back-up assistance to cover on call schedule, weeknight and weekends

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

  • Displays flexibility, adaptability and a positive attitude by willingly assisting and covering the assignments of other staff in their absence or unavailability.

  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Two (2) years general office experience or equivalent training.

  • Minimum one (1) year data entry/computer experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Medical office experience and familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
