The Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) Healthcare Operations Support Assistant is an excellent opportunity to start working in a healthcare environment alongside clinical and operational teams to support the mission of patient care throughout the organization.

As a Healthcare Operations Support Assistant, you will be cross-trained to work with multiple frontline operational, clinical and administrative teams. This position has been designed for students to gain important workplace skills in a healthcare environment, explore the different career opportunities and working environments in healthcare, and work flexibly around your school schedule.

You will interact with hospital staff, clinical team members, patients, and their families and your work will include duties such as, but not limited to:

  • Inventory & Logistics

  • Delivery and pick-up of equipment and supplies

  • Patient transportation

  • Administrative Support

  • Filing

  • Patient calls

  • Referral processing, etc.

  • Ambulatory Clinic Support

  • Greeting and rooming patients for their appointment

  • Infection Prevention

  • Cleaning and disinfection throughout the facility

  • Grounds and Maintenance

  • Gardening

  • Snow removal & sanding

  • Clean-up

  • Inpatient Unit Support

  • Greeting visitors

  • Managing supplies

  • Answering phones

  • Dietary Services

  • Delivering inpatient trays

  • Dining room customer service

  • Meal preparation
