The Economist Acquisition Manager, EIU Healthcare in London, United Kingdom


The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) is the world leader in global business intelligence. It is the business–to–business arm of The Economist Group, which publishes The Economist newspaper. EIU Healthcare provides data-driven intelligence for the medical technology industry, with its solutions identifying realistic opportunities and enabling growth strategies through granular data for specific segments, including the IVD and Surgical sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing marketing campaigns to raise awareness of EIU Healthcare’s solutions in key target audiences and delivering leads to the sales team. You will create relevant marketing collateral and work closely with sales teams to build go-to-market plans and supporting materials.


How you will contribute:

  • Plan and execute lead generation and new business development activities

  • Identify and utilise appropriate marketing channels to reach target audiences

  • Devise go-to-market commercial plans for each segment

  • Work with the healthcare team to create compelling content for campaigns

  • Deliver targeted campaigns, including email, webinars and social media

  • Drive increased traffic and visitor engagement with key portions of the website

  • Organise and deliver events to help cement relationships between the EIU and customers

  • Manage the promotional budget to ensure monthly spend is within agreed guidelines

  • Support the sales teams with accurate information and appropriate collateral

  • Provide reports on campaign performance, media coverage, sales leads generated and ROI

  • Work closely / manage the relationship with third party suppliers, such as designers, event organisers, PR agencies and data providers

Experience, skills and professional attributes

Ideal skills and abilities are:

  • Solid experience of content marketing in a B2B environment (healthcare a plus)

  • Able to identify target audiences and devise campaigns that engage, inform and motivate

  • Creative outlook, able to develop engaging and impactful content marketing campaigns

  • Good copywriting skills, able to communicate clearly and succinctly

  • Comfortable working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong collaborative skills and able to achieve results through other people

  • Excellent event management skills
