Purpose of the Job

The Trade Promotion Manger will be an integral player on the Sales Strategy team, working cross functionally with the marketing team as well as display and graphic development to bring to market solutions with consumer stopping power. With a focus on identifying trends in business, this role will provide actionable insights and recommendations to continue to drive the business forward to achieve goals on the highest growth brand at PCH.

What you’ll do:

Identify key insights to design, develop and deploy trade offers (in store and online) that align to brand target and drive strong levels of trade support, inclusive of timing and tactics

Engage regularly with Customer Teams to ensure business plans align to brand strategies and partner on off shelf merchandising requests along with national/standard display vehicles

Help manage trade material & communications to ensure alignment with brand strategies and updates

Consult on the display and bonus/trial packs budget to ensure the right activation support levels

Lead Emergen-C Quarterly Promotional Review with Sales Strategy and Brand to evaluate and current POS promotional trends, trade offer effectiveness; identify gaps/upside in the 4Ps by leveraging multiple data sources such as Shopper Sights, IRI Panel, and Unify; inclusive of top competitor trends and insights and proactively communicate upcoming plans

Optimize and manage SKU Priority across Dietary Supplements and Immune Support aisles, while also suggesting National SKU deletes

Own promotional pricing policies, ensuring regular alignment of customer teams programs

Provide trade inputs for innovation testing and perspective for commercial trade promo strategies and tactics, including war gaming competitive response and then analyzing in market performance against launch assumptions

Collaborate on omni-channel programming that support Retailer specific platforms and/or PCH Scale programs

Team Liaison to incremental customer team funding asks, in partnership with Sales Revenue Management (SRM)

Present on promotional topics in key PCH engagements (Annual Business Meeting, Go-To-Market meetings, customer team planning sessions, wellness staff meetings, etc…) with periodic opportunities to interact with customer (retailer buying teams) directly

Be the retail expert for strategy and brand with regular in-store and online visits to share current, working knowledge on quickly evolving retail environment

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

4-yr degree - Bachelor’s Degree

5+ yrs trade marketing and/or sales experience in OTC/consumer product goods industry

Understand the retail environment and has experience in interacting with the customers in this environment

Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications with a strength in Excel and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skilled in working with multiple information sources such as syndicated data (IRI/Neilsen), with both POS and Household Panel data, retailer proprietary POS and Trade Promo systems (as well as any associated web based applications)
