SSM Health Healthcare Analyst Senior in Madison, Wisconsin

Dean Health Plan is seeking a Healthcare Analyst Senior interested in joining the Data Management Team. This team is comprised of long-standing members and valued leadership .

The Healthcare Analyst Senio r will utilize strong facilitation skills to elicit requirements and business needs from individuals and teams across all levels of the organization. The Healthcare Analyst ’s focus will be to pull data and generate reports to meet business needs. In this position, Analyst ‘s will get a unique understanding of the organization and exposure to many different topics. We offer a flexible work environment while maintaining close team connections.

Leads and performs complex analyses integrating data from multiple entities and environments throughout the health plan into a combined and coherent analytic product. Develops, designs, and implements analytic and reporting initiatives, working collaboratively with personnel across the organization, leading project teams and mentoring less experienced analysts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies business requirements and develops analytic specifications for projects through participation or leading team activities or project meetings with internal and external business customers.

  • Translates customer requirements into project descriptions, analytic and data specifications, and development of project timelines for projects and ongoing initiatives.

  • Provides expertise and guidance for the organization by identifying reporting requirements and needs and deciphering the requirements into a reporting solution, self-service tool or application.

  • Develops SQL queries, SAS programs or projects utilizing multiple data sources and environments for data extraction to produce operational reports.

  • Interprets data, identifies trends, establishes and utilizes benchmark data, interprets and presents information to customers.

  • Produces executive summaries to aid leadership decision-making.

  • Develops, tests, and implements dashboard reporting to provide senior leadership and executive staff, as well as other internal and external DHP customers, with performance data and trend information in an easily accessible and readily understandable form.

  • Provides project leadership on projects and activities involving cross-departmental and cross-divisional staff.

  • Mentors less experienced analysts by providing explanations, information training, demonstrations, and answering questions.

  • Participates in enterprise-wide business intelligence and analytic data management and best practice activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent years of experience and education

EXPERIENCE

  • Five years’ experience (or Master's Degree and Three years' experience)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
