Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital. The comprehensive healthcare system includes a 484 bed academic medical center, a large outpatient Clinic & Specialty Center, and a network of primary and specialty care clinics in Minneapolis and in suburban communities. SUMMARY Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a Healthcare Analytics Consultant, Senior in our Population Health department. This critical Population Health "champion" role is primarily accountable for establishing the architecture that meaningfully organizes population health information AND oversees series of analytical models that provide care team insights, drive action, accounts for the Quadruple Aim within a safety net system, and results in improved HHS contract performance. Additionally, this role will have accountabilities related to innovating the model, building strategy, defining measurement and supporting organizational adoption. Performing this role well requires strong knowledge in the flow of payer data into HHS, risk adjustment methodologies and groupers, healthcare finance models, billing and revenue cycle, and the concept of healthcare value. It also requires significant experience architecting data warehouses, defining methods to depict measurement and results, developing and applying predictive analytics, transforming large, complex data sets into streamlined, actionable reports, and integrating advanced analytics into operational systems to facilitate optimal population health outcomes. Initially, this position will directly report to the Population Health Program Director, and work closely with the Population Health Transformation Executive, the HHS IS&T Informatics and Analytics Director. This position will work closely with all levels of the organization from executives to staff. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead efforts to provide complex or specialized analytics and business insights to support HHS population health efforts, incorporating actionable analytic content into operational and management systems Serve as key advisor, contributor and champion to the Population Health strategy as part of the core leadership team and specifically during design and implementation events as needed Participates in population health strategic planning that may require identification of opportunities and/or innovative thinking and analysis (i.e., ecosystem partnerships, contract negotiations, contract roadmap) Partners with the data analytics and database team to inform the data and analytic architecture for which information comes in, is used, and what deliverables it's connected to for Population Health Responsible for the hygiene of this system to avoid redundancy, defects, missed timing, ambiguity, and confusion Point person for critical pop health tech conversations, solutions and decisions related to data sharing, data exchange, advanced analytics, among leadership and external representatives Analyze costs, utilization trends and develop financial models using claims and other healthcare data Leads, establishes, and oversees HHS's smart stratification methodology and inventory of system 'Care Prompts' that support pop health efforts Serve as liaison HHS's IS&T Analytics team to understand emerging tools and data models, advocating for alignment/infusion with system tools Work closely with technical representatives to leverage and optimize data, analytic and EMR tools Analyze episode-benchmarking data, reports, processes and measurements for performance indicators QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: BA in Health Administration, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Statistics + eight (8) years' experience with a risk beari
