HCE - Medical Informatics (MI) provides analytic, programming, and modeling support for clinically oriented initiatives sponsored by senior executives across all lines of businesses and directly for clinical operations teams throughout UnitedHealth Group.
As a Director of Health Care Economics you will perform critical research and investigation of key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data. This position will be specifically focused on support of population health initiatives and will be responsible for the design and execution of complex reporting deliverables and economic evaluations. Communicating at senior levels of the organization is required.

Lead projects to completion by contributing to database creation, statistical modeling and financial reports
Interpret and analyze clinical data from various sources and recommend best approaches
Produce and review reports
Interact with a team of analysts in a matrix structure - own and deliver sophisticated analytic deliverables.
Client facing, regularly meet and work with client to drive actionable reporting
Design and deploy studies to evaluate economic, clinical and financial outcomes

Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, pharmacoeconomics, health services research, economics, health economics, public health or a related quantitative discipline
7+ years of experience with SAS
7+ years of experience with data reporting and analysis
5+ years of experience with healthcare data and healthcare business
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to develop, document, and communicate policies, analytical designs, and results to leadership, lay audiences, and analysts
Proficient in the application of advanced statistics to evaluate economic, clinical and humanistic outcomes
Master’s degree or PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, pharmacoeconomics, health services research, economics, health economics, public health or a related quantitative discipline
Experience with managed care organizations
Solid interpersonal skills and ability to interact collaboratively with internal customers across multiple departments and business segments
Self-motivated to prioritize work on multiple complex assignments with ongoing deadlines
Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $110,200 to $211,700.
