Medi- Centrix Office Assistant - Healthcare Accounts Receivables in Neptune, New Jersey

Job Purpose

The Office Assistant will execute timely and efficient clerical support to Healthcare Accounts Receivables office staff and management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive daily mail coming into the office and sort by team/function

  • Photocopy, scan and/or upload documents into EMR systems and/or department team(s)

  • Distributing documents, faxes, scans and correspondence to department team(s)

  • Completing Medical and Billing Record Requests

  • Maintaining filing systems

  • Meets and maintains quality standards established in departmental policies.

  • Adheres to the policies and procedures established for the client/team.

  • Perform special projects and other duties as needed. Assists with special projects by utilizing excel spreadsheets, and the ability to communicate results.

  • Use, protect and disclose patients? protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

  • Act cooperatively with coworkers, management and clients while also maintaining a professional attitude

  • All other duties as directed by management


  • Previous experience in Hospital/Facility or Physician billing preferred

  • Experience with EMR, EClinical Works or EPIC PB preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

  • Proficient in use of email and internet

  • Accurate keyboard skills

  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.

  • Strong communication skills/oral and written

  • Strong organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail

Working Conditions

General office environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area

  • Sit; perform manual tasks; operate tools and other office equipment such as computer, computer peripherals and telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear

  • The employee must be able to follow directions, to get along with others, and handle stress

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal
