The Challenge

The Head of Industry Practice defines the vision and strategy for enabling a high potential industry. This role will operate across all functions (Sales, Marketing, Product/Solutions, Services) and across the entire XM platform (all of our products: XM Core (XMC), Employee Experience (EX), Customer Experience (CX), Brand Experience (BX), and Product Experience (PX)), leading the industry team to unlock the full power of the platform for an industry market. The individual in this role will leverage their depth of industry understanding to flag relevant product or product capabilities to drive configurations in line with a specific go-to-market for the XM Solutions in that industry.

This role owns the XM Solution experience and the resulting revenue for the industry. This individual has strong input to the product teams, works closely with corresponding sales leader(s), and contributes substantially to the revenue results of product lines (e.g., CX, EX). They will work closely with the Qualtrics global industry expert to build XM practices as well as to build the Qualtrics’ brand within the industry. The category leader will also partner with data scientists and solutions managers to ensure XM solutions are meeting the needs of the industry customers. The individual in this role is responsible for defining what being great at XM should look like for their industry.

The Expectation for Success

You will know you are doing an extraordinary job when you:

  • Leverage industry knowledge to define needs of customers in industry for XM solution

  • Define the vision and strategy for enabling the industry

  • Own the revenue number for the industry and at each product level, operating at an XM level to unlock the full power of the platform

  • Define the business plan and go-to-market for the category, including sizing, segmentation, and prioritizing market opportunity

  • Define the solution package, including product configuration, content, pricing, combination of products, feature set within product, and marketing requirements

  • Partner with marketing, sales, product, engineering, ecosystem, data scientists, and services teams to define, configure, sell, and deliver the best XM solutions for the industry

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Basic (must have for the job)

  • Prior experience in the enterprise SaaS industry

  • 12+ years of industry experience

  • In-depth industry knowledge and proven track record at winning in that industry

  • Proven collaborator, builder, and motivator for cross-functional teams

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, team building, and leadership skills with the ability to communicate Qualtrics’ vision and inspire internal and external teams to action

  • Willingness to travel 25% (could be up to 40% during scaling phase)

  • Preferred (want for the job)

  • Previous experience at hyper growth startup
