Job Description

Responsibility Statements

  • Manages complex projects and/or programs that align with client expectations and business needs.

  • Projects may include multiple disciplines and/or significant business process re-engineering efforts.

  • Manages cross-functional teams and projects.

  • Plans and directs schedules as well as project budgets.

  • Organizes project and program activities that require interdepartmental meetings and communication.

  • Ensures completion of the program/project on schedule and within budget constraints.

  • Directs the activities of project support staff, project managers, and sub-contractors.

  • Ensures appropriate resources are allocated and maintained to facilitate the successful completion of the project.

  • Assigns and monitors work of subject matter experts, providing support and interpretation of instructions.

  • Coordinates priorities between projects or within a program that requires critical thinking and complex problem solving.

  • Communicates project scope, goals, and responsibilities to project teams.

  • Establishes clear stakeholder expectations and requirements.

  • Develops and maintains reporting procedures.

  • Monitors performance in project and program control activities.

  • Develops and distributes reports related to project activities, general project management, and financial issues.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • PMP Certification –Strongly Preferred.

  • Proficient in all management areas of a project plan – Communication, Finance, Integration, Procurement, Quality, Resource, Risk/Issue, Schedule, Scope, and Stakeholder

  • Is able to coach and mentor others in each of the above areas, providing guidance and direction on process, tools, and best practices to achieve desired results

  • Working with the key stakeholders and project team, develops and manages the controls, reporting structure, and governance structure that will be followed in accordance with organization standards

  • Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.

  • Has successfully led a portfolio of large, complex, client facing projects (i.e. – 24+ months in length, $20M+) involving cross organizational support

  • Works with the individual project managers to ensure their projects are within budget and that the budget of their portfolio of projects is managed per organization standards

  • Excellent Communication Skills – Written/Verbal

  • Can lead a team of project managers, providing guidance and direction regarding the success of their individual projects

  • Has shown the ability to build strong working relationships with their team and key stakeholders, building trust in their ability to lead and manage their program of projects

  • Ability to create and/or facilitate program level status reports/meetings for key stakeholders, including Executive Level Leadership and the Client that summarize the current status of the program – Schedule, Budget, and Scope – using the agreed upon project controls and reporting structure

  • Has created and managed large integrated schedules (baselined) in MS Project utilizing a Work Breakdown Structure, deliverables and Check Points to monitor schedule health across multiple large-scale project efforts

  • Utilizes agreed upon governance structure and control to ensure ALL project efforts within their oversight are on schedule and within budget

  • Able to identify potential scheduling issues and provide guidance to the project manager in negotiating mitigation solutions

  • Is able to address escalated scheduling issues with the project manager, and/or know when and how to escalate further for resolution

  • Is able to provide direction to their team on the use and best practices of MS Project

  • Has created and managed processes and tools to track Risks/Issues across multiple large-scale project efforts

  • Has created and managed processes and tolls to track assumptions, constraints, and changes across multiple large-scale project efforts
