The Pharmacy Tech/Consumer MedicationCoordinator position at Genoa is an essential role that impacts the lives of an underserved population that needs a voice. This position is a liaison between a partner clinic and a Genoa mental health specialty pharmacy. Primary responsibilities include building strong relationships with the clinic partners and communicating with consumers to assist them with their medication plan, insurance and the full services of the Genoa pharmacy. A key function will be promoting Genoa services to obtain new consumers and increasing the number of consumers Genoa serves.

  • Hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00AM-5:30PM with no evenings,weekends, or major holidays!

  • 18 days of PTO, 8 holidays, medical, dental, vision, 401k, andtuition reimbursement!

Major Duties &Responsibilities:

  • Communicate withall consumers of the mental health center regarding the medicationservices Genoa provides.

  • Recruit and enrollconsumers utilizing enrollment forms and copy the consumer's insurancecard.

  • Facilitate thecollection of prescriptions to be faxed to the pharmacy for dispensing.

  • Ensure allconsumer insurance information is up to date in the Pharmacy system and isproperly charged for the medications dispensed.

  • Assist consumersin contacting the pharmacist regarding all their medication questions andensure a prompt response to their questions.

  • Assist clinic staffand pharmacy with prior authorizations and Patient Assistance programs asneeded.

  • Compliancemonitoring by contacting the consumer at least monthly to ensurecompliance and determine refill needs as applicable.

  • Prescriptionrefill management by utilizing the no refill report and contacting theappropriate prescriber to ensure timely refills are completed anddispensed to the consumer.

  • May includePhlebotomy for consumers receiving Clozapine and other medications viaGenoa schedule blood draws and sends samples to the appropriate lab. {Onlyapplicable in clinics that are contracted for these services.}

  • Medicationdelivery when needed and appropriate. {Only applicable in states that areallowed.}

  • Check forexpiration dates (both on consumer's medications as well as house accountproducts/standing order meds.)

  • Ensure thatmedications are stored properly (refrigerated drugs are kept in therefrigerator, pen-tips are not stored on insulin pens, etc)

  • Check fordiscrepancies (dose changes, discontinued medications, etc).

  • Take back expiredor discontinued medications for destruction (as long as they are clearlylabeled by a pharmacy)

  • Reliabletransportation and valid driver's license is required.

  • All areas of thejob description are subject to state regulations and allowances. {CMC willreceive a state specific document that shares state specific regulationsand allowances.}

Educational or SkillsRequirements:

  • Must be licensed New Jersey Pharmacy Technician

  • PTCBCertification preferred but not required

  • Candidatesfor the position will be subject to a standard reference and backgroundcheck.

  • Basicreading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normallyacquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledgeof Microsoft Office and telephone protocol.

  • Duties requireprofessional verbal and written communication skills.
