As the Health Care Economics Analyst, you will design and develop reports and analyze data to measure clinical outcomes, network performance and methodology levers. You will investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and health care costs data. Along with your team, you will identify potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide claims, premium, capitation and membership datain support of utilization analyses

  • Perform analysis to quantify /estimate the effectiveness of medical intervention initiatives

  • Perform repeatable analytics insupport of medical utilization trend identification, root cause analysis

  • Support medical management by performing populationanalytics to improve overall health outcomes and financial performance

  • Lead projects to completion bycontributing to database creation, statistical modeling and financialreporting

  • Create and update automatedprocesses

  • Buildfinancial models to perform financial analysis to improve health plancompetitiveness and support reporting requirements

  • Analyze reporting tools utilizedby the internal customer groups

  • Collaborateand communicate results and technical concepts


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent workexperience, finance, econ, accounting, supply chain, MIS, data science, dataanalytics

  • 2+ years of data analysisexperience either from professional work history or educational study

  • At least an intermediate level ofproficiency working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, charts,graphs, etc.

  • At least a basic level of proficiencyworking with SQL and/or SAS programming tools

  • Ability to quickly learn and usecomputer software tools effectively


  • 1+ years of health care experience workingwith claims data and medical codes is highly

  • Intermediateskills/knowledge of query tools, database platforms, data mapping/ETL, systemplatforms and software packages platforms
