CVS Health Legal Counsel – Healthcare and Clinical Research in Scottsdale, Arizona
Fortune 4 CVS Health has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team! As a Legal Counsel – Healthcare & Clinical Research, you will undertake contract review, drafting and related negotiations, provide strategic legal advice and counsel to internal business partners with respect to clinical trial arrangements and provide general legal support. You will proactively support the regulatory, contracting and operation work of the enterprise clinical trials and research program.You will identify business and legal risks and provide solutions which balance legal issues and business objectives. You will be expected to develop a keen understanding of the enterprise clinical trials program and related operational goals, and work diligently to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal clients at all levels of the organization. You primary responsibilities and focus will be to:• Draft and review clinical research arrangements, Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Confidentiality Agreements, CRO and other clinical research related vendor agreements.• Provide legal support and regulatory guidance to internal business partners to facilitate the early development clinical trial-related contracting, sponsor or investigator-initiated study agreements, collaborative research, and various vendor agreements supporting clinical research.• Provide general legal support for the clinical trial program related to clinical research regulatory compliance, including the review clinical research-related documents and agreements, study protocols, informed consent requirements and IRB requirements.• Work closely and collaboratively with CVS Health legal, compliance and privacy colleagues, including in the regulatory, intellectual property, risk management and litigation groups to support the enterprise clinical trials program.This is a highly interactive role and will allow you to gain exposure to a multitude of areas within the company. This position can be located in Woonsocket, RI, Hartford, CT, Dallas, TX, Northbrook IL, or Scottsdale AZ. Work from home in other locations considered on a case-by-case basis. Additional responsibilities of the Legal Counsel – Healthcare & Clinical Research include: • Identifying business and legal risks while providing solutions to balance legal issues and business objectives. • Developing a deep understanding of the business and operational goals while developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal clients at all levels of the organization. • Collaborating with internal clients to provide advice on legal issues and driving projects to completion. • Partnering with other attorneys and partners on contractual arrangements, legal and regulatory compliance, and general corporate legal issues.
• Minimum of 5 years legal attorney experience in a law firm and/or in-house setting that includes: - Clinical research contract drafting and negotiation. - Knowledge of laws, regulations and industry standards governing clinical research, such as FDA regulations, ICH Guidelines, and GCP.- Managing Corporate & Transactional Issues. • Admitted to practice law in at least one state and in good standing of applicable bar association(s). • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. • Licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Bachelor’s Degree plus Juris Doctor (JD) are required.
