A day could include

  • Drive strategic commercial opportunity identification, and means to address, including responsibility for business development in line with BD plan / profit margin

  • Monitor BD forecast, discrepancies with target, and propose actions to improve

  • Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, including developing or standing up core capabilities

  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.

  • Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning.

  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute including driving IMS awareness & buy-in

  • Analyze potential partner relationships and technologies for product development.

  • Oversee multiple concurrent successful devilries or product builds and deliver using diverse capabilities and teams - statistics, software, consulting - and ensure continuous improvements of project or product delivery

  • Successful record of introducing new techniques/methods to meet client needs

  • Build credibility such as through scientific publications, case studies or white papers

  • Identify capability and skills needed, and take responsibility for closing gaps

The Team: Machine Learning & AI Solutions

Our Machine Learning & AI Solutions team within the Real-World & Analytics Solutions (RWAS) Technology division is a global, fast-growing group of enthusiastic, collaborative and entrepreneurial individuals. In our quest to harness the value of Real World Data (RWD), we are at the centre of IQVIA’s pursuit of machine learning and cutting-edge statistical methods to advance healthcare. Our efforts improve retrospective clinical studies, under-diagnosis of rare diseases, personalized treatment response profiles, disease progression predictions, and clinical decision-support tools.

This high-profile team works on ground-breaking problems in health outcomes across disease areas including Oncology, Neurology, Chronic diseases (such as diabetes), and a variety of rare conditions. The team works hand-in-hand with statisticians, epidemiologists and disease area experts across the wider global RWAS team, leveraging a vast variety of anonymous patient-level information. The data encompasses IQVIA’s access to over 530 million anonymised patients as well as bespoke, custom partnerships with healthcare providers and payers.

Our approach is unique in the industry and is defining the way companies can develop and apply patient-level RWD to provide deeper insight about disease, therapy area changes, outcomes research and other scientific insights.

The Business Unit: Real-World & Analytics Solutions (RWAS) Technology

Real-World & Analytics Solutions (RWAS) is a market-leading, fast-growing and highly successful business, focusing upon delivering tangible business results to clients across healthcare value chain internationally, working with key decision-makers and business managers. RWAS teams help clients lever complex clinically rich patient-level healthcare datasets to understand healthcare treatment patterns and outcomes to make more informed decisions, and deliver results.

The RWAS Technology mission it to deliver world class and globally scalable technology platforms and analytics applied to complex and large scale clinical datasets, to support IQVIA’s ongoing and rapid growth in Real World Evidence, as well as the development of new product lines - this requires global leadership across technical and data architecture, software development and data visualization, privacy management, analytical methods, data science, machine learning, deep learning and natural language processing (NLP) - building upon 100s of novel technologies and methods either published in peer reviewed journals or patented by our team.

The solutions are delivered to a variety of clients across life-science, government, payor or provider organizations. The CoE also curates the largest collection de-identified Real-World Data in the world, from different patient care settings in 18 countries worldwide – the RWES Tech CoE is at the forefront of “Big Data” in healthcare. Through its mission and skills, the RWES is transforming the way clients create new insights and deliver improved healthcare research and patient outcomes.

Overview of the role

IQVIA seeks to expand the product line and launch a series of additional ML & AI products in the next few years. The enthusiastic, innovative and passionate about intelligent tech solutions Product Manager will help drive dynamically our product portfolio, working collaboratively with clients and cross-functional IQVIA services teams. This involves growing current ML-led solutions and expanding into new product lines.

The exceptional candidate would work directly with the IQVIA RWAS Tech leadership owning different product lines and software engineering cells, as well as sales & principals across global RWAS and the local business units. As part of this process, the candidate would also work closely with the software engineering and HEOR or disease teams. The ideal candidate has a passionate interest health care data and their applications in analytical products. He/she should be extremely comfortable in engaging with technical teams including software engineers or statisticians. The candidate would also need to clearly manage the product strategy including initial Go-to-Market (GTM) and establishing product credibility with clients before scaling through IQVIA sales and GTM teams. He/She would also need to have experience in managing predictive analytics teams and developing or commercializing analytics applications in healthcare and life-science. International experience is highly beneficial, but not essential.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of product management experience including experience in managing intelligent solutions and data science teams

  • A minimum of five years managing ML, advanced or predictive analytics solutions end to end with proven delivery capability including capturing requirements, designing analysis plans, managing junior analysts / programmers / software development teams/ data scientists

  • Strong commercial experience, GTM channel penetration

  • Good knowledge of healthcare / life science issues involving Real-World Evidence or experience with patient-level, longitudinal data.

  • Strong knowledge of machine or deep learning methods, NLP or computational cognition model for text comprehension, or other novel data analysis methods

  • Good grasp of classical statistical methods, such as fitting regression models, inference testing and sampling.

  • Software engineering experience including agile methods, programming skills in languages such as Python, R, C++, Scala, Matlab, and data visualization

  • Understanding of and experience in implementing analytics product strategies. Qualifications a leading product management framework a plus (e.g. Pragmatic, 280Group, SVGP)

  • Good knowledge of epidemiology / biostatistics, particularly analytical issues relating to studies of treatment effectiveness, disease progression, adherence, healthcare utilization,

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including ability to present technical concepts to lay audiences, write analysis plans for projects, contribute to RFPs, pitch ideas effectively and persuasively to clients, etc.

  • A proactive, innovative and pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to think critically and independently.

  • Flexible and adaptable in a client focused, results driven environment.

  • Comfortable and capable of liaising directly with senior stakeholders

  • Ability to manage team members effectively on or off-shore

  • Experience of a fast-paced, consultancy environment.

  • Willingness to travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America and Europe.
