CTGs premier client has a contract assignment for aProject Manager.

Type:Long Term Contract

Job Title:Project Manager

Location:Washington, D.C.Candidates must be local to D.C.

The Project Manager will support an ongoing Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. The position will provide support to a government healthcare client in the Operations department. The Project Manager will be responsible for functional aspects to include project scheduling, facilitating meetings, taking meeting minutes, writing up agendas, tracking risks, and managing operational tasking from inception to closure. This is a functional role, and the Project Manager will not be delegating tasks but will work with team members to support the Operations team, assist and coordinate with different teams and to facilitate tracking actions.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline is required plus minimum of 10 years of professional work


  • In lieu of degree, minimum 18 years of relevant work experience

Required Skills

  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records

  • Experience working in an Operations Cell or Project Management Office team

  • Experience managing Information Technology related projects specifically Health IT systems, Cerner Millenium, VA VistA and VA VIP

  • Experience in lifecycle, project management and SDLC methodologies to deliver software

  • Experience in tracking costs, schedule and performance progress

  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks

  • Experience managing and directing technical teams and projects which require integration between multiple systems and understanding of interfaces by providing technical insight and mitigation of issues

  • Experience and understanding of VA or DoD legacy systems

  • Experience with interfaces with devices (E.g. BioMed) in a healthcare environment, familiarity with messaging and common interfaces

  • Knowledge of middle tier solutions, in particular Rhapsody and HealthShare

  • Experience developing, interpreting, and reviewing architectures, in particular DoDAF and UML system interface models

  • Experience with large scale IT implementation

  • Experience with Executive reporting

  • Experience with collecting, tracking, and reporting metrics

  • Experience with facilitating meetings, taking meeting minutes, agendas, and tracking meeting actions and decisions

  • Experience with modifying a Project schedule

  • Experience with documenting Standard Operating Procedures

Desired qualifications:

  • Preferred candidate will be able to collect and track metrics with minimal supervision

  • Preferred candidate will be able to lead an effort from beginning to completion.
