Summary

The Operations Manager provides supervision at the direction of management on site to coordinate activities of employees engaged in facilities operations or services at a health care establishment. The Operations Manager coordinates, at the direction of management, key functions and between 3 and 10 employees during the normal course of business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as a working lead, coordinating activities of housekeepers engaged in cleaning and/or maintaining smaller less complex facilities of commercial, health care facility, school, residence hall, or other establishments.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; managing and approving timesheets.

  • Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees by complying with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

  • Assists in monitoring employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity.

  • Responsible for the coordination of routine responsibilities of employees. Responsibility for specific work or functional activities as directed by on-site management.

  • Responsible for orientation and training of employees.

  • Performs day to day assignments in addition to lead duties.

  • Works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution.

  • Takes an interest and initiative in the development of the facilities team.

  • Participates in regular safety meetings, and safety trainings. Applies all applicable OSHA requirements to all assigned work. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

  • Adapts procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the requirements of the position.

  • This position is responsible for the supervision of staff.

  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Three years’ experience that evidences a working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes.

  • 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Basic skillset in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.

  • Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.

  • Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

  • Proof of immunization for TB, and any other immunizations and screenings designated for this contract.

  • Contract requires candidate to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.

  • Contractor may be required to maintain all employee health records on site.

  • Background Requirement:

  • An individual is ineligible to work in any position that has Regular Contact with or Control over Children, Dependent Adults or Vulnerable Persons if the individual has been convicted of.

  • One or more felonies and/or two or more misdemeanors of Crimes Against Persons and/or Crimes of Violence.

  • Any Crime against a Child, Dependent Adult or Vulnerable person, regardless of its classification as a felony, misdemeanor, or other type of offense.

  • Any Sex Crime, regardless of its classification as a felony, misdemeanor, or other type of offense.

  • Murder.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Occasional exposure to harsh weather conditions; requires work be done both inside and outside.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Description of environment: Hospital setting. Pace of work is medium and high volume of customer interaction.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. This position is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.

Travel: This position requires travel up to 25% of the time. Employee may travel to other client units in town.
