Responsibilities

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Healthcare Consultant/Business Development Manager ! This position can be remote within the Midwestern States .

This individual will be responsible for leading the development of a pipeline for sales efforts to grow the US Quality Improvement Portfolio to Healthcare sites (including hospitals, clinics, healthcare systems, EMS and DOHs). Promoting the adoption of the Quality improvement products, including registries, QI collaboratives, Systems of Care and Certification products will establish and expand new standards of care. Each QPBDM will have a defined list of approximately 200 hospitals and as their sales targets. These managers will also have responsibility to identify customers, create ROI cases to help close Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) and Certification contracts. Other duties as assigned:

  • Responsible for prospecting healthcare institutions as targets to convert to new QI portfolio contract sales. Manage a defined territory of hospitals, healthcare systems, outpatient clinics and post-acute care facilities

  • Must achieve an understanding of the functionality, features, data requirements, security and minimum technology standards needed. Must be able to communicate these features in the sales process including the ROI of program participation, identify opportunities for cross-selling of other Regional and National AHA products, programs, and services

  • Collaborates closely with the Regional staff, up to and including the territory Executive Director on account management, site recruitment, regional regulatory requirements, and market level Systems of Care activities

  • Responsible for following all appropriate contracting processes and communicating IT technology requirements for proper utilization of the GWTG registries, certification products, and outpatient QI activities

  • Prepares and provides updates to immediate supervisor and Regional market leads on progress on prospecting of leads and conversion of Quality Portfolio programs and products

  • Proficiency in calculating proper pricing models, multi-contract discounts and bundling opportunities for growing the book of business for the Quality Portfolio

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Two (2) to Five (5) years relevant experience

  • Experience with sales development or fund-raising in AHA or related non-profit

  • Successful record of account management and sales successes

  • Experience in building and managing relationships with external alliances or partners

  • Knowledge/experience with selling to C-Suite, ideally in hospital setting

  • Experience identifying and building relationships with key volunteers in hospital or clinical settings

  • Ability to travel up to 20% local and overnight stay (once COVID restrictions have been lifted)

Preferred Experience:

  • Get with The Guidelines sales experience

  • Clinical Experience
