Job Summary

Working as the Project Manager, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring construction and development of projects within an acute care hospital system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviews, evaluates, and recommends space utilization programs• Communication with hospital staff, community groups, agencies, contractors, architects and engineers to plan, organize, and coordinate programs and services• Monitors flow and quality of work• Prepares bid documents, specifications, cost estimates, budgets, schedules and savings in energy• Prepares and maintain a variety of departmental records and reports• Ensures compliance with the Joint Commission, State Health Department, NFPA, EPA, DEP, ADA and local building codes and all other authorities having jurisdiction• Prepares, reviews, evaluates, and recommends approval of plans for construction• Advises on structural changes and additions and/or modifications to buildings and space utilization• Interviews independent contractors to receive and analyze bids, including blueprint analysis of proposed changes• Submits bids, cost estimates, schedules, phasing plans, budgets, reports and recommendations• Liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, hospital facilities staff, material and equipment suppliers• Oversees day-to-day construction activities and maintain all appropriate logs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two year Tech Degree in Engineering or equivalent work or military experience in a related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred• Five years engineering and construction experience in a hospital health care institution• Five years management experience preferred• Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction principles, practices and procedures, applicable laws and government regulations, principles of management• Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project• Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations• Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and to maintain organization in a changing environment• Must possess a working knowledge of the Joint Commission and NFPA
